Care Management Services - FAQ
What does a care manager do?
Care managers are individuals who are skilled at assessing a complex elder care situation and developing a plan of action to solve problems. Care managers provide valuable advice and coordinate care management services, relieving family members of the more burdensome aspects of caregiving.
We are in a crisis. Can you provide immediate assistance?
Yes. We will arrange a consult visit immediately upon receipt of your call. Based on our initial findings, we will make recommendations for action, and if requested, develop a plan of action to respond to immediate and long-term issues.
Are your care management services covered by Medicare or private insurance?
Our care management services are fee-based and are not covered by Medicare. Some long-term care policies provide coverage for selected services. Once you determine the services you need, your insurance benefits manager or a Mature Options care manager will help you determine if the service is covered.
How much do care management services cost?
An initial consultation, such as a problem-focused geriatric assessment, usually lasts 60 – 90 minutes and typically costs $150. We offer a broad range of care management services. The cost of service will vary, based on which service(s) we provide.
My parents came through the depression. How do I convince them that they need to pay for care management services?
Many of our parents have known economic hard-times. They have been disciplined savers. We sometimes remind our parents that they saved for a “rainy day” and that a storm is now brewing around them. Many seniors purchase legal and financial advice. Our service is similar – our product is their safety and well-being.
